How to get here

By car, by mobile home or by coach:

The museum is situated on a hill north-east of the town center. After entering Konz, please follow the signs that direct you to the museum. There is a large carpark with extra parking space for buses directly in front of the museum entrance.

By public transport:

There are several railway stations in Konz. If you want to go right to the museum by public transport you can get off at the railway stations „Konz“ or „Konz Mitte“ and continue the journey by bus. For train and bus schedules we recommend the use of the online information system on www.vrt-info.de/en/index.php. Please enter „Konz, Freilichtmuseum“ as your destination. (The name of the nearest bus stop is „Konz, Am Hofgarten“.)

Instead of waiting for a bus it is also possible to walk to the museum in about 30-45 minutes. We recommend that in this case you get off the train at the station „Konz Karthaus“ (north of the center, towards Trier). The museum is about 1,6 km from the station and there is a height difference of approximately 80 metres.

On leaving the station at „Konz Karthaus“ you turn right and follow the street uphill over a bridge that crosses the railway lines. After the bridge turn right and carry on for a few metres. On the opposite side of the road a sign leads you into small street that continues uphill and takes you to the museum.

Alternatively, after getting off the train at the station „Konz“, when coming out of the station building you turn right and walk along the „Bahnhofstrasse“ towards a bridge, which crosses the street you are on and the railway lines to your right. Cross the street and walk uphill to cross the bridge. You reach the roundabout at the „REWE“ supermarket. Walk three quarters around, then continue along the street „Michael-Scherer-Str.“ (the railway lines are now to your left on the other side of the street) until the next roundabout, where you turn right into „Roscheider Str.“ and follow this street uphill to the museum.

By bicycle:

The museum can be reached by bicycle on small roads without much motorized traffic through the former vineyards. This route is not signposted very well, however. If you are travelling by bicycle, please go uphill to Roscheid and continue either along the main street or follow the paved footpath along the ridge until you reach the museum fence, where another footpath takes you a few more metres uphill to the museum entrance.

We would be delighted to welcome you as our guest in our wonderful restaurant with its antique setting. Our restaurant, which is in the former barn that belonged to the Roscheider Hof estate and has been decorated with old oven and chimney plates, provides seating for 120 people. Right in front of the restaurant is a marvellous terrace with a beer garden under the chestnut trees that also seats about 180 people. Of course you can visit the restaurant and the beer garden without having to pay the museum entrance fee.

Claudia Behge, Martin Herez and Marcus Schmidt, look forward to seeing you.
